Shading innocent blood is against Islam – Saudi Cleric

Image
Killing of innocent people with no just cause‎ is against the teaching of Islam, an Imam of the Prophet's Mosque in Madina, Saudi Arabia, She‎ikh Salah Al-Budair, has said. He blamed the growing trend of indiscriminate killings across the world on extremist elements who are bent on forcing unwholesome innovations down the throat of the Muslim world. Sheikh Al-Budair spoke through an interpreter when he received a 250 member delegation from 10 African countries including Nigeria in Madina on Umrah (lesser hajj) under the auspices of the Saudi Arabia government. "Bid'ah (innovation in religion) is ‎a great affliction on the land. It causes transgression and killing of people in the land," he said. The Imam said deviant groups over the centuries have been responsible for the shedding of innocent blood which are not part of the teaching of Islam. He warned Muslim scholars against ‎making hasty pronouncements but to be patient with one another...

Stopping JAMB’s CBT to PPT is 100% backwards

Image
Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata Jnr. I have followed the unfortunate story of students and parents protesting that the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board conducted one of the worst university entrance examinations this year. I have also watched in amazement as JAMB has worked tirelessly to defend its reputation, labelling those who are protesting as being angry that they were unable to cheat at the last examination, which was why they took to the streets in protest. Quite frankly, I do not want to get involved in the argument as to who is right or who is wrong. My major concern at this moment is the fact that the House of Representatives has ordered JAMB to revert to the paper-based test that it had been using in years past. So the question is; should we simply run away from computer-based-tests that many parts of the world have already embraced, or should we take a critical look at the problems surrounding these and other examinations with a view to proffering sol...

Image
Malam Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, says, in this exclusive interview, that the budget passed by the National Assembly was not accompanied by details, hence President Buhari will await the details before giving assent. Shehu also speaks on Nigeria’s membership of the Islamic anti-terrorist coalition, Buhari’s foreign trips and other issues   The National Assembly has just passed the 2016 Appropriation Bill. How soon should Nigerians expect the President’s assent? That would be done as soon as the National Assembly presents the details to the President. Yes, the National Assembly has passed the budget and sent the bill to the President but the details did not come with the bill. Of course, the President cannot sign something without seeing the details. The normal practice is that the details would have accompanied the bill. When the President presented the Appropriation bill it was accompanied by the details. So...

There are allegedly two other signs that the end is nigh, including a super moon that will appear to grow in size as it reaches the closest point to the planet. Earth is also expected to enter darkness as the moon passes in front of the sun, blocking its light and creating a solar eclipse. Some believe these are biblical omens that could suggest the doom of the world and the second coming! 10 Of The Most Expensive Cars In The World

Image
The most expensive cars in the world are so much more than transportation. These rolling art pieces encapsulate the priorities of the one percent, and in that universe, flamboyance and swagger take precedence over practicality and efficiency. Lifestyle criticisms aside, these are truly mind-boggling machines, and we’d like to count down our favorites for you here. Zenvo ST1 ($1.2M) Kicking off our list is less of a car and more of an unchained animal in the ST1. Assembled in Zealand, Denmark, the Zenvo creates an absolutely obscene amount of power by combining a 6.8-liter V8 with both a supercharger and a turbocharger. Just how much is obscene exactly? How about 1,104 horsepower and 1,054 pound-feet of torque, all channeled to the car’s rear wheels.
