According to P.M News, Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmadu, a youth leader and the North-west coordinator of PDP youth wing, on Tuesday, said Sheriff’s appointment was illegal and should not be allowed to stand. According to him, the leadership of the party was still trying to remain in the past when other political parties were moving with current reality. The youth leader who stated this while addressing newsmen in Kaduna, added that the PDP had once again missed the point by its latest appointment of the alleged Boko Haram sponsor without stakeholders’ approval. Ahmadu also called on the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party to come together and salvage the PDP from total collapse and humiliation. In another development, the Board of Trustees of PDP on Monday, February 22, insisted that  the newly appointed chairman, must go as he was not qualified to lead Nigeria’s main opposition party. The members of PDP BoT restated their earlier stance after a meeting call to discuss the emergence of the former Borno state governor as the new chairman of the party in Abuja.
