1. Suya
Put simply, this is usually an assortment of skewered meat seasoned with a spice called Suya and then barbecued. We as Nigerian’s don’t do things in half measures as you can see from the image below2. Jollof Rice
Jollof is eaten all over west Africa and actually derives from Senegal where it is called Wolof rice. Jollof rice is made with tomatoes, tomato paste, onions, salt, spices (such as nutmeg, ginger, pepper, and cumin) and chilli peppers, and is cooked in a stock. Mmmmm!3. Fried Dodo (Plantain)
4. Pepper Soup
Nigerian’s usually go to restaurants to eat pepper soup as it is believed to be prepared with “secret” ingredients that only the “kitchen mamma” knows. You get different kinds of pepper soup including chicken, goat, cow foot, and catfish pepper soup known as Point & Kill.5. Banga
A palm fruit-based soup that is most popular in the Delta region, and particularly amongst the Urhobo ethnic group. What makes this soup so delicious is the mixture of the palm fruit and the shellfish which creates a really intense flavour.6. Deep fried Yams

This is plain cooked beans served with tomato and pepper stew8. Puff Puff
