Political parties move war to social media

The
ruling All Progressive Congress and the Opposition Peoples Democratic
Party PDP in Katsina have relaunched a massive social media campaigns
purportedly to woo supporters.
Daily
Trust observed that of recent there has been increased politicking by
both parties using different names in a move to edge-out each other,
especially to catch the young ones ahead of the 2019 general election.
Every
day Facebook, Whatsapp and twitter accounts of the respective party's
are doling out criticisms, commendations and achievements of respective
party's all in a move to create attention and an edge-out the other.
It
was observed during this Sallah break that the PDP social Media forum
held a fora where its members were rejuvenated and new ones inaugurated
and posted to various councils to serve as coordinators.
Speaking
at the occasion, the PDP state chairman Salisu Majigiri commended the
forum which he said will serve as a hub for interaction and cross
fertilisation of ideas for the growth and development of the party.
For
the APC government, the creation of the office of a Senior Special
Assistant to handle social media related issues is a clear indication of
its readiness to toy in line with the trend. This is first time such
office was established in the statem
The
SSA Abdulhadi Bawa is been assisted by three others handling each
senatorial zone in addition to two others attached to his office
updating governors and government events and replying critics as well
the opposition PDP.
Also the APC as a party has got its social media organ which is presently been re-jiged ahead of 2019.
